What if the key to your future was hidden in your past?

Freya’s evenings are full of small joys—a warm blanket, a loyal cat, and a heart that feels content.

Working the overnight shift at Mass General, her only real human connection is with Valentina, a sharp-witted 96-year-old patient who fills the long hours with stories from another time—tales of her immigrant parents, old Boston neighborhoods, and a world that no longer exists.

But when Freya begins experiencing a strange fuzziness that wraps around her brain, the nurse in her instinctively starts running through possible diagnoses. It’s enough to make her wonder if something is actually wrong—so she books a scan. There’s something familiar about the technician’s eyes as he tells her to lie still, that it won’t take long. The machine begins to whir… to click… as the fuzziness tightens around her brain.

Then—zap.

Freya wakes up in Boston…but the city around her belongs to a different century. She’s disoriented, lost, and dressed completely wrong. A fisherman stops to help her, and she recognizes him from the hospital—the same technician from her scan. Except now, his hair is longer, he’s dressed in heavy wool—and he stinks of fish.

She rubs her eyes—this must be a dream.

Drawn into a world she somehow already knows, Freya begins to question everything: her place in time and the meaning of the connections she’s making. She wonders whether some stories hold the key to something more—and if changing any of it could unravel the future she left behind.

But when Freya unexpectedly falls in love, she realizes something in the past has been waiting for her—and that she might be destined to change her future after all.
