The Vineyard at Midnight sweeps you away to a vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. The author describes it so well that you feel like you are living it! I read this book in two sittings! I just couldn’t put it down, and that is very rare for me! It’s so good!

I absolutely loved The Vineyard at Midnight. At first, it irritated me to go from the past to the present and back to the past. But it didn’t take me long to love this style as I learned to look forward to the mystery of the past and the excitement of the future. The writing was very heartfelt and brought out many emotions.

The Vineyard at Midnight captures attention on the first pages leading the reader back to 1948 in the midst of lovers and their toddler escaping from Dupont Vineyard in the middle of the night. Covering three generations weaving effortlessly in and out of eras is mesmerizing as characters are anxiously followed up to the current period. Keep tissues handy.

I loved this book! I got pulled into the story and read it in two days! Intertwining the past and present along with the journal entries was a great way to tell this beautiful story. It was hopeful, emotional and touching. I think what I liked most was the love and happiness that came from tragedy and the possibility of new beginnings.
